Good Ol’ Vintage was founded by two vintage-loving teens, Leon and Saba, at the very end of 2017.
They loved the individuality, quality and timelessness of vintage and wanted to share their love for vintage streetwear with the rest of New Zealand.
They quickly realised that in order to get their hands on all the best American vintage, they’d have to start importing it from overseas.
So by early 2018, their side hustle had turned into a full-on operation where they sourced and imported vintage from all around the world into little ol’ NZ.
Their customer base quickly grew as the word got out that there was an easy way to get cool vintage pieces delivered straight to your door!
Over the years, Good Ol’ Vintage grew exponentially. People couldn’t get enough of our vintage!
GOV reached many milestones over 7 years, and Leon and Saba were so proud of what it had become.
Today, GOV has a fine-tuned website that releases new items weekly, ships worldwide, and there is even a Good Ol' Vintage retail store in Ponsonby, Auckland.
After dedicating 7 years of their teen/ early adult life to GOV, Leon and Saba made the incredibly difficult decision to let go of their baby and take on a new adventure. They always wanted to travel the world while they were still young, and this meant letting go of their little passion project.
While it was sad to let Good Ol’ Vintage go, they knew it would be in good hands, as they passed over the reins to Dane and Bridgette.
Dane and Bridgette have always loved everything fashion & streetwear.
So, when they came across the opportunity to take over Good Ol' Vintage, they knew that it was an exciting opportunity that aligned with everything they loved.
With Bridgette's beauty and retail management background and Dane's project management background, they knew they would be a perfect fit.
Handing over GOV to Dane and Bridgette was bittersweet for Leon and Saba. While it was difficult for them to part ways with GOV, they were confident that their baby would be in great hands.
They are so excited for the future of GOV and to follow Dane and Bridgette's journey.
While Dane and Bridgette want to preserve everything that Good Ol' Vintage is and stands for, they are excited to add some personal touches to the store and have some exciting plans for GOV.
Dane is an avid sneaker collector, and has already introduced a range of kicks to our Ponsonby store!
Dane and Bridgette are also big on community, and have planned some exciting collaborations and events with other local businesses.
Dane is also good on the decks, so you can catch him jamming out in the backroom on the odd Friday/ weekend!
Leon and Saba are already so proud of everything they've done with Good Ol' Vintage, and have no doubt that GOV will continue to flourish in their hands.
